Virgin eye step forward with extra computer power – Yahoo! Eurosport
Virgin Racing, one of three new Formula One teams which failed to score a point last year, predicted a big step forward on Thursday after doubling the computer power at their disposal.
“We just see gain upon gain coming,” technical director Nick Wirth said in an interview at the Autosport International show in Birmingham.
“The new car is a very big step forward from last year…we are very excited about putting that on the track.”
The Russian-backed team, who finished 12th and last in their debut 2010 championship, announced an enhanced partnership with IT services company CSC who have installed a new computer suite at Wirth’s Banbury base.
