May 18, 1983: Lear 25 (may have been a 24) crashes into the Atlantic Ocean about 200 miles south of Iceland, having exhausted its fuel supply after flying some 1,600 miles on autopilot. All contact with the crew was lost abruptly about 30 minutes after the airplane departed on a training flight from Vienna to Hamburg. Two company pilots and a student pilot to be checked out were killed.
